Portuguese journalists were surprised by Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson's attitude ahead of tonight's UEFA Cup clash with Sporting Lisbon.
"You sound as though it would be a relief if you lost," one Portuguese reporter suggested, drawing his own conclusions ahead of tonight's first leg of the last 16 tie.
"We want to win it," said Megson.
"I hope I don't give the impression that we are trying to get out of this competition, because that would be quite easy to do. I could play myself!
"We're just trying to do the best we can on two fronts, with all its difficulties, but with the priority on the fact that our biggest game is Wigan away."
