Bolton boss Megson unhappy with Hull behaviour

Bolton boss Gary Megson has accused Hull backroom staff of trying to influence referee Peter Walton to get captain Kevin Davies booked at the weekend. Megson claims a member of the Tigers' staff went into the official's room at half-time.

"I was getting a little bit annoyed with what was going on," the Wanderers manager told The Bolton News.

"I know a member of Hull's staff went into the referee's room and was moaning about Kevin Davies.

"He's as honest as the day is long and I don't take kindly to any bench, not just Hull's, trying to get him booked to gain an advantage."

Davies was also not impressed by the conduct of Hull's backroom staff.

"The way their bench over-reacted was disappointing," he said.

"I'd heard they had been on to the ref at half-time saying I was leading with the elbow.

"That shows how desperate they were."
