Bolton boss Megson relieved after win

Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson was relieved and delighted after his team overcame West Ham 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The three points allowed the Trotters to edge closer to getting out of the drop zone and Megson was quite pleased with how side went about it.

"You know the first half I was quite pleased with, they've not done a thing, we've had more efforts and more attempts, more corners, everything," Megson said.

"Its just that we fell into a false sense of security in terms of just passing and passing for the passing's sake and in the second half we stepped it up a little bit and passed but then with a lot more of an end product.

"In the second half we utilised his qualities a lot more and consequently West Ham struggled with that."

Megson admitted that in the past his team has been a bit on the dour side but after six goals in two matches believes Bolton are now easier to watch.

"We're not a big physical team at all - we're trying to change that and we're trying to get a little bit more pleasing on the eye, we're trying to get a little bit more patience but that'll take a little bit of time for everybody to get used to," he said.

"But again we scored three goals at home, this time our defending and our shape was much better."
