Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is ready for a busy final two weeks of the summer market as he attempts to move Gavin McCann and Danny Shittu onto Portsmouth.
Megson told Sky Sports News: "We know what we would want to do if anybody left, not just those two.
"That's the kind of club we are. We can't continually keep bringing them in, bringing them in and bringing them in.
"We need to move people on to try and agitate it a little bit and get some movement.
"There are negotiations, but they're difficult and long-winded at the moment, so we'll see.
"If the lads end up leaving and joining Portsmouth, or anywhere else, or if any other player is going, then we will need to bring people in.
"As we stand we've got 21 outfield players and they're not exactly 21 really top drawer ones.
"There are some really good players in there, but there are some people that we've brought in just to give them a chance of going forward and it doesn't always work out."
