Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson denied Nicolas Anelka was left out of yesterday's FA Cup defeat by Sheffield United to avoid him being Cup-tied.

"There has been no official approach from anyone for Nic," said Megson.

"We made a number of changes and the other players came into the same category as him."
