Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has hit out at Sam Allardyce over his criticism of his work this season.

"It makes me laugh when people criticise yet when you look at the facts they don't add up," he said.

"I've been manager of Bolton for 27 games and we've taken 31 points. In the previous 27 games, we took only 22 points. We've kept 11 clean sheets in my 27 games, whereas previously we'd kept four.

"When I arrived we had five points from nine games," he said. "If that had continued we would have been relegated."
