Bolton boss Megson in furious Taylor clash

Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson has clashed with midfielder Matt Taylor.

The News of the World says Megson dropped Taylor to the bench for last week's clash against Chelsea after criticising his team's Carling Cup display against Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Megson told Taylor, 28, his decision had been nothing personal but the player stormed out of his manager's office and then remained on the bench throughout the game.

The Bolton chief said after the match that he did not appreciate senior players knocking on his door when they had been left out.

The pair then traded insults before the team left the stadium.

Megson has attracted criticism in private from his more experienced players, who have expressed concern at the team's style of play.
