Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is delighted with Ricardo Gardner's impact in the centre of midfield.

The Jamaica international has been outstanding since the positional switch and Megson said: "It wasn't an experiment, we know his qualities and we know what he can do, but he has done really, really well.

"He's enjoying it too because he is getting involved a lot more.

"His performance on Saturday epitomised what we were looking for. Quite a few times this season we have had to play people out of position and the injury to Mark meant we had to bring Bibi into the centre of midfield.

"It's probably the first time in his club career he has played in that position and he's doing brilliantly."
