Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson insists he won't be moving for Newcastle United utility Alan Smith.

The Trotters have been linked with a move for Newcastle midfielder Smith, but while being a fan of the player, Megson is not planning an approach.

He said: "I'm an admirer of Alan Smith, he's a terrific player, but there's been nothing because the transfer window is closed.

"I don't know where all these things come from, but it's not here."
