Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is convinced Gary Cahill is among the best young centre-halves available to England.

He said: "I've not heard anything about England and Gary, it's just my own opinion.

If you are looking for young English centre-halves, after him and David Wheater there aren't many about.

"Away from home for two years we've been a soft touch and we need to sort that out."
