Bolton Wanderers boss Gary Megson is backing Tony Adams to be a success at Portsmouth, thanks to the talent in the current squad.
He said: "Tony has been a big part of what has been going on at Pompey for the last couple of seasons.
"He cut his teeth at Wycombe, got some experience in Holland and turned up at Portsmouth and done well.
"He's got some fantastically talented players there in the likes of Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe and I'm sure it will go well for him."
Adams' former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger added: "The most important thing you want to have is good players when you arrive somewhere - and I believe Portsmouth has good players and that's where you can show your qualities."
