Bolton Wanderers boss Sammy Lee hasn't given up on securing Jussi Jaaskelainen to a new contract and insists they've already made the Finn an excellent offer.

"We are working hard behind the scenes to try to get an agreement," the Wanderers boss said. "I have always said we don't want to lose our best players and Jussi comes into that category."

Lee also told the Bolton News: "The club made Jussi a very good offer, which he rejected.

"He said he would see out the remainder of his contract, which is not the same as saying he was staying at the club."
