Bolton boss Coyle urges players to enjoy what they are doing

Bolton manager Owen Coyle says enjoying football is one of the most important things for a player.

The former Burnley has instilled a new culture at the Reebok Stadium since his arrival from Turf Moor about 16 months ago and has his Trotters sitting eighth on the league table and in the FA Cup semi-finals.

He says that enjoyment is the key to playing good football and hopes his players can continue on the way they have been performing this season in the business end of the campaign.

"Enjoyment is paramount. I came in last year and one of things I asked the players to do was enjoy their football," Coyle said.

"We understand there are football pressures but they are not the real pressures of every day life when someone is out of work and has a family to look after.

"We all want to be good at our job but surely to God you can come in and enjoy what you are doing. We enjoy tremendous lifestyles because of what football brings us.

"If I can have my players enjoying their work and going and replicating that on a match day then we can win games. That's what have we have to do.

"There is a sense of optimism at Bolton but you need to back that up with results."
