Bolton boss Coyle tells Celtic to lower manager sights

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has told Celtic to forget about trying to lure a big name manager to Parkhead.

Coyle rejected the opportunity to manage his boyhood heroes following Gordon Strachan's departure, choosing instead to sample the English top flight with play-off winners Burnley.

Now with Bolton, Coyle told the Daily Mail: "Celtic will always be my team, that goes without saying. I gave it great thought last summer, I really did. But I just felt that the timing wasn't right.

"But there is no doubt that Celtic and Rangers, when these jobs become available, they will be attractive to anybody. Celtic are a global club, no doubt about that. They have had their trials and tribulations, as any club will do, but I believe they will always come out on the other side.

"It's a unique club, a global name with enormous appeal. Sometimes things are sent to test you. They will come out on the other side and go from strength to strength.

"Whatever route they go down, the important thing is they get the right man for the job."
