Bolton boss Coyle targets Stoke outcast Beattie

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is chasing Stoke City striker James Beattie.

The Daily Star says Coyle is desperate to beef up his striking options in the summer and has put Beattie on top of his summer shopping list, although Blackburn are also interested in their former player.

Beattie, 32, cost Stoke £3.5m from Sheffield United last summer but has struggled to make an impact following a bust-up with boss Tony Pulis.
