After defeat to Aston Villa, Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle played down the end-of-game ruck between the players.
The match ended with players from both sides pushing and jostling one another within seconds of the final whistle sounding.
That led to referee Mike Jones issuing bookings to Bolton's Ivan Klasnic and Jack Wilshere, as well as Villa's Stewart Downing.
Coyle explained: "I didn't get a good view, but it seemed to be one of those things when people get frustrated and are trying to run down the clock.
"If truth be told it was probably handbags. I don't think there was too much involved in it."
