Bolton boss Coyle sees Burnley defender Mears as Cahill replacement

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is eyeing Burnley defender Tyrone Mears.

The Lancashire Telegraph says any move for the full-back, who Coyle brought to Burnley from Derby, is dependent on Bolton selling Gary Cahill.

Manchester United are still keen on the former Clarets defender, and are reportedly set to offer up to £15m.

That would give Coyle a huge transfer kitty, and Mears would be on his shopping list.

Burnley don't need to sell any of their players, and will resist any moves for Mears, who still has two years to run on his contract.
