Bolton boss Coyle proud of clinching Alonso signing

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is pleased to be taking his team to Scotland today.

Coyle is prepared to face a reality check on a flying visit back to Scotland.

He revealed to the Scottish Sun: "We only came up yesterday afternoon because we've had such a hectic itinerary.

"I've had an incredible amount of work in trying to bring new players to Bolton. I was delighted to unveil Marcos (Alonso) at the Reebok on Tuesday.

"We had to work very hard at it and there have been a lot of phone calls to Spain over the last two weeks.

"This is a player that could have stayed at Real Madrid or joined Benfica, and there were other big clubs in for him but he decided to come to us."
