Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle says there's much work to be done this summer.
Coyle, who arrived in January from Burnley, insists there is a lot be done to shape a side in his image.
He added three players to the squad, Jack Wilshere (Arsenal, loan) Vladimir Weiss ( Manchester City, loan) and former Houston Dynamo midfielder Stuart Holden.
Coyle said: "We came in and never spent a penny. We got a kid of 18 (Wilshere), a kid of 19 (Weiss) and Holden, three players who had never started a Premier League game.
"People may have thought I was off my head but I knew what I was looking to add to what I had and that's an on-going process."
