Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has cooled talk of Liverpool moving for Lee Chung-yong.
Coyle insists there has been no contact from Merseyside, but reckons that, given time, the 21-year-old could eventually play for one of the big four clubs.
"It didn't surprise me that he has been linked with a club the size and stature of Liverpool," he told the Lancashire Telegraph. "The only thing that did surprise me is that there had been absolutely no dialogue at all.
"Chung-Yong Lee will continue to get better and be capable of playing for the very top clubs, I've got absolutely no doubt about that. But he knows and I know that right now he's best served developing here.
"I have really enjoyed working with him since he has been here and, hopefully, I can give him that belief and the little bits and pieces that will make him a better player."
