Bolton boss Coyle keen to give Ward his chance

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle admits there's growing interest for striker Danny Ward.

The 18-year-old enjoyed a successful spell at Swindon in League One during the last campaign as he netted nine goals in 32 games.

Impressed by Ward's form with the Robins, Coyle will now take him on Wanderers' pre-season trip to America before deciding whether he's ready for the step up to Premier League level at the Reebok.

"I am going to have a right good look at him, which is only fair," Coyle was quoted in the Bolton Evening News.

"He did very well at Swindon last year. There has been about 10 enquiries for Danny to go out on loan again.

"What I have said to them all is that I am going to have a look at Danny to see if he is going to be involved in my first team.

"Having made that decision I will take it from there. It's only fair.

"I want young players in my team and Danny has got an opportunity to do that.

"Ultimately, it's up to him how well he does."
