Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle refuses to believe they're suffering a hangover from last season's FA Cup semifinal defeat.

Many Trotters fans still believe they have never really recovered from that fateful April semi.

Bolton beat Arsenal a week later but since then it has been a nightmare that has put Coyle's position under the spotlight.

He said: "It was a poor day. It wasn't nice.

"But it was last season and we have to address what is happening this season. Our focus has to be on Sunday, nothing else.

"These players don't need it as a motivational tool.

"We've the chance to move out of the bottom three. If that can't motivate you, then something is sadly wrong."
