Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle insists they never planned for Gary Cahill's sale.
Cahill joined Chelsea during last month's market.
"So I think it was inevitable, if it didn't happen in August, it was going to happen in January, and so it proved. It is up to us, me as a manager and us as a football club, to adjust to that. That's what we've tried to do by getting the ones we've brought in, they're young, exciting players, Tim Ream, Marvin Sordell, Ryo Miyaichi: these are young, talented players, all with pace, and I think all open to improvement, which is great for us." Coyle told Absolute Radio: "Well, you always have plans. I never ever planned for Gary leaving, I've got to say that, I wish we still had him because he's an outstanding, quality player, but we obviously understand the business side and the practicality of it.
