Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle hailed Chris Eagles' influence in victory over Stoke City.
Coyle was full of praise for two-goal Eagles' display in the Reebok Stadium rout.
"I thought Eagles was outstanding from start to finish," he said.
"I signed him four years ago for Burnley and then brought him here in the summer again because I know what he's capable of.
"We purposely moved him to the left for two reasons. We felt that coming off the left he's very dangerous on his right foot and he can go outside because he's got pace as well.
"Equally we felt it would help Paul Robinson against the ball because Pennant's a handful coming down that side. He did that."
