Bolton boss Coyle excited about Bolivian prospect Gilbert Alvarez

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle says he could make a move for 18-year-old Bolivian Gilbert Alvarez if he impresses on the club's American tour.

The Callejas striker has been invited to join up with the squad and could play in some of the warm-up games.

Coyle said: "He is talented and young. I am always loathed to speak about these players because at the end of the day we are not Real Madrid or Barcelona, and bigger clubs can come in and undo all your good work.

"But it's fair to say we have an interest in him. He has represented Bolivia already at senior international level and he is a talented young player that I like.

"He has a bit of everything. Hopefully, if we can get a chance to work with him for 10 days or so on a daily basis, then we can see if he is at the level we think he is."
