Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle was delighted with the way Jack Wilshere clattered into Manchester City powerhouse Patrick Vieira in his Premiership debut.
The exciting Arsenal prospect was handed his first Premiership start in the defeat to City.
And Coyle came away impressed: "He stood up next to Patrick Vieira at the start of the City game and I looked at the height difference, but he flew into a tackle with him after two minutes and set his marker down..
"I was delighted with him and the only reason we brought him off was because he was tired because he had covered every blade of grass.
"He didn't look fazed. He's a very good footballer; he loves getting on the ball and playing, and adds another facet to our play.
"It augurs well for us but, equally, English football.
"We're always saying we want the best, young English players playing so they go on to represent their country. And in Jack Wilshere they'll have one for the future."
