Bolton boss Coyle admits to potential Cahill sale

Bolton manager Owen Coyle admits that star defender Gary Cahill could be sold in the January transfer window.

The Trotters boss has continually remained defiant regarding the England international, who has attracted interest from bigger English clubs, but says there could be a possibility that he departs in the winter if the right offer comes in.

"That is something that will be seen to be the case in January," Coyle said.

"I would love to work with Gary Cahill every day of the week for as long as I could because he is a top player and a fantastic young man.

"Again, sometimes things are taken out of your grasp. We will wait and see what January brings.

"But, for this moment in time, what's more important is we continue to improve as a team and continue to pick up points in the Premier League."

Currently placed 18th on the table, Bolton travel to 14th-placed West Bromwich Albion on Saturday in what is shaping as a crunch match for both clubs.
