Bolton boss Coyle admits Burnley taunts hurt

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle admits the barracking from his former Burnley fans this week upset him.

Coyle, who was greeted with cries of 'Judas' on Tuesday when his side defeated Burnley, the club he left earlier in January, believes the baiting of top coaches is a 'social problem'.

He said: "Managers get stick in football, it is commonplace I can assure you of that. Nothing surprises you, it is such a passionate game.

"But it is more than football, it is a social problem now that you can give out stick and get away with it."

Coyle added: "As footballers, coaches, managers, we all know what is involved in the job. We are all thick-skinned and have broad shoulders to take it on board.

"I can't say it is enjoyable. But we know it is the nature of the beast."
