Bolton chief executive Allan Duckworth is stepping down from his role after 14 years at the club following the Wanderers relegation from the Premier League after 11 seasons. "As the club begins a new chapter in its history, with (manager) Owen Coyle setting out the foundations of his plan for the long-term, it feels right for a change, for both myself and for the club," he said.

Trotters chairman Phil Gartside paid tribute to Duckworth's contribution at the club.

"Allan and I have worked closely together for 14 years, during what has been a hugely successful time for Wanderers," he told

"I would like to place on record my sincere thanks for all his efforts during that time on behalf of Bolton Wanderers and wish him well in his new challenges."
