Bolton Wanderers are determined to retain loan striker Daniel Sturridge for longer than his initial loan deal it has been revealed.
The 21-year old is on loan from Chelsea for the remainder of the season but after scoring in both of his two Trotters outings thus far, the club is keen to keep him for longer.
With the Reebok Stadium future of Swedish striker Johan Elmander uncertain and the fact Chelsea have Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and now Fernando Torres, it could work well for Sturridge to hang around under the tutelage of Owen Coyle who is a big fan of the youngster.
Ultimately, Chelsea have the final say on whether he stays or goes but Bolton will be happy to pick up his salary in full if a further loan deal can be sorted.
