Bologna keeper Viviano thrilled with Italy debut

Bologna goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano was thrilled to keep a clean sheet in Italy's 5-0 thrashing of Faroe Islands.

It was Viviano's competitive debut and he was delighted to achieve the landmark at the Stadio Franchi.

"Who could dream that I'd make my Italy debut in my home city? It was a perfect 10 for me. Absolutely fantastic," he said.

"The truth is I'd happily be part of the Nazionale even if I was working as a waiter! If I play then of course I'm happy. If Salvatore plays, then I'll cheer him on from the sidelines.

"Gianluigi Buffon is the God of goalkeepers - the Maradona of shot-stoppers! We can only try to fill in as best we can during this time out and wait for him to return.

"I just hope to be able to train with Buffon sooner or later and wish him a speedy recovery."
