Bologna have been forced to release Gianluca Curci back to AS Roma.

The goalkeeper spent last season on-loan at Bologna.

"The situation is simple," Silvano Martina told Radio Mana Mana Sport. "He has returned to Roma because Bologna do not have the funds to keep him.

"For me, Gianluca is worth €5-6 million, but it is a difficult time for Italian football.

"We do not have a problem with returning to Rome, but they have to focus on what's best for Gianluca."
