Bologna coach Papadopulo expects more signings this week

Bologna coach Beppe Papadopulo expects more signings to arrive this week.

"We are satisfied and setting the foundations for the next sporting year, which must be better than the last," said Papadopulo.

Among the introductions in the past week are Brescia shot-stopper Emiliano Viviano, Palermo midfielder Roberto Guana and Catania's Giacomo Tedesco.

"The new arrivals have given us an extra boost and occupied the most crucial roles. If, for example, we had started pre-season training without replacing [goalkeeper Francesco] Antonioli, then it would've been difficult both on the field and off.

"Viviano and the others coming in for roles that were badly needed gave an important message to everyone, above all those who had stayed from last season.

"I think next week we need to bring in another couple of players, as at this moment the fact the group is so small makes it difficult to work.

"We need two centre-backs, an attacking full-back who can get past his man, a midfielder and one or two strikers."
