Bologna chief Marco di Vaio admits they remain keen on re-signing Gaston Ramirez from Southampton.

Saints chiefs won't stand in Ramirez's way should he wish to return to Bologna.

"To clarify: I called the boy once and shared the opinion of the club, just to hear how he was and what he wanted to do in the future," said Di Vaio.

"On the part of the club, there is a will to set up a negotiation. His response? He's fine, right now he is focused on the birth of his firstborn.

"If we can get him? We think yes, otherwise I would not have even called."
