Bolivia defender Pena on trial with DC United
Former Bolivia defender Juan Manuel Pena was a surprise face at DC United’s pre-season training camp in Mexico.
The 37-year old had supposedly retired last year after almost a decade and a half in Spain but was preparing for a friendly against Santos Laguna with DC.
Pena enjoyed a stellar career in Spain with Valladolid, Villarreal and Celta Vigo after kicking off in his homeland with Blooming in 1990 before spending a couple of season in Colombia with Independiente Santa Fe but it seems his open to a comeback which could occur in MLS with the Washington-based club.
