Boca Juniors president Pedro Pompilio has revealed Barcelona have made an approach for striker Rodrigo Palacio.

The Argentina international has been followed by Barca for the past 18 months and Pompilio confirmed last night: "Barcelona have contacted us about Palacio and I've told his father and his agent.

"To date there is still no offer. This is an irreplaceable player, we are willing to sell him only for a very high figure."
