Sydney FC are ready to deal in free agent Bobby Petta. The former Ajax and Celtic star is training with Sydney after coming off contract at Adelaide United over the winter.

"He's actually done all right so far and we're still having a look at his fitness," Sydney coach John Kosmina told the Sydney Morning Herald. "When he first came to Adelaide he had some pre-existing injuries, which I think hampered his time there.

"But I know when I was in charge of Adelaide, I saw some really good performances out of him and I know what he's capable of. He's a natural, left-sided player and a dribbler in the old mould. There's no firm decisions as yet, but I've seen him rip defences apart."
