George Boateng says Middlesbrough are "too nice".

The Holland international said: "We show teams too much respect and we are too nice. Some people think playing one good game means you can relax on the next one, especially younger players. We cannot think like that.

"I am confident about the Bolton game. I think we will beat them. It will not be easy but the team is playing well and everyone is contributing.

"After losing to Cardiff in the FA Cup we thought no one would turn up but the fans still came and the atmosphere has been brilliant.

"I hope they will turn up again at the weekend and help us make it hell for Bolton. It is a vital game and if we win it we can get into mid-table, and finish above Newcastle or Tottenham."
