Kevin-Prince Boateng is grateful for Portsmouth in taking a chance on him after a disappointing time at Tottenham. The 22 year old cannot wait to play regular first-team football and believes Pompey have enough quality to get off the bottom of the table.
"I think for me it's a great move. I'm very happy," he told The News.
"The second Tottenham game I started was at Fratton Park. I know the crowd is crazy and they just need us to win.
"I remember I nearly scored but David James saved it. I remember the crowd were just crazy.
"When you see the quality in training, we have a lot of players with experience, a lot of young players.
"They want to show they are hungry so I know we just need to stick together and show we are a real team.
"I couldn't really show it at Spurs - now is my time to show people. It was a tough time for me at Spurs.
"I always train hard and give my best but it didn't work out. You just have to get a new chance to show what you can do.
"I had the whole pre-season with Spurs. I never really had the chance to show what I can do, and I hope I can get the chance at Portsmouth now and show people."
