Boas quits Inter Milan

Andre Villas Boas has quit Inter Milan as Jose Mourinho's assistant coach.

The official club website confirmed yesterday that Villas Boas has terminated his contract by mutual consent so that he can take over at Academia de Coimbra.

The 31-year-old replaces tactician Rogerio Goncalves and has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

"We embrace Villas Boas and wish him the best of luck from Mourinho and all of Inter," read the statement.

It is the end of an era for Mourinho, who was accompanied by his 'tactical assistant' at both Porto and Chelsea.
