Luis Boa Morte has been inspired by West Ham teammate Carlton Cole's resurgence this season.
Boss Alan Curbishley paid Fulham £5million for the 30-year-old in January yet he has spent most of this season on the bench.
But with the Hammers plagued by injuries, Boa Morte has vowed to make his mark - starting with tomorrow's visit of Bolton.
He said: "You need time and a good example of that is Carlton Cole.
"At the beginning of the season he wasn't playing but at the moment he is just on fire. He has worked hard and I am really pleased for him.
"I have to keep working hard and wait for my next opportunity. I want to show what I can do."
