Sunderland have been dealt a major blow with talented forward Duncan Watmore set to miss the remainder of the season.
Although the Black Cats have not yet confirmed the news, the Daily Mail reports that the 22-year-old damaged his cruciate ligaments in Saturday's 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Scan results on Monday suggest that Watmore will now miss the rest of the Premier League campaign which comes as a massive negative for Sunderland who have found form with three wins from their past four matches.
Manager David Moyes told Sky Sports after the match: “It's his knee. We'll need to get it assessed properly and find out exactly what it is, but it doesn't look good for him at the moment.
“Duncan has been a big part of the first team and it would be a big blow."
