Toronto FC have added Mark Bloom to their roster on loan from Atlanta Silverbacks.

The 25-year old defender has arrived at TFC from the NASL on a short-term deal with the view to a more permanent move.

"We're happy to add Mark Bloom to our team," said TFC general manager Kevin Payne in a statement.

"(Silverbacks' technical director) Eric Wynalda has spoken very highly of him to me, and our scouts also rate him as a very solid player."

Bloom joined Atlanta from the Charlotte Eagles at the beginning of 2013 following a stint with AC St Louis.
