Blind implores Man Utd to ‘stand up and be a team’

Daley Blind has urged Manchester United to show togetherness in the wake of their Europa League disappointment on Thursday night.

The Red Devils were beaten 2-1 by Fenerbahce in Istanbul after a stunning overhead strike from Moussa Sow and a nice free-kick from Jeremain Lens preceded Wayne Rooney's late goal.

"It was a hard game, especially after the goal we conceded," he told MUTV.

"I think he never makes a goal like that in his life again.

"After that we tried to push and we got some little chances, we could create more.

"In the second half, we know when we push there's a bit of a risk for a counter attack and that happened.

"We scored too late for 2-1 and then there's no time left to score or go for the second goal.

"We have to look at ourselves now. It's very disappointing for us, I think the atmosphere in the dressing room said it all.

"Now it's important to stand up and be a team and show that we are."

United dropped to third spot on the Group A table with six points from four outings ahead of the November 24 clash with second-placed Feyenoord at Old Trafford.
