Blind confident Man Utd will make genuine title challenge next term

Daley Blind is supremely confident that Manchester United will be challenging for next season's Premier League title.

The Red Devils have recovered their 2014/15 campaign in fine fashion having won six matches in a row which has them sitting third on the table, eight points behind league leaders Chelsea.

When asked about United's chances of mounting a title pursuit, Dutch international Blind felt Louis van Gaal's squad had the makings of a Premiership winner.

"Can we win the League next year? Manchester United is always a club that is fighting for the title so it's an easy answer," he said in the wake of Sunday's 4-2 derby win over Manchester City.

"We have improved a lot, we are still improving and we really are one team, and that is the important thing. We have to keep on this way and keep in our mind that every game is a final.

"When you win a derby game it is always special and a great feeling. Of course other teams will have watched the game but we have to watch ourselves this season, focus on our own games, and then we will see where it ends. We have to believe in ourselves."
