Former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc has slated English football.

France coach Blanc goaded England ahead of next week's clash by saying: You've won nothing for ages.

And he claimed the Premier League owed its strength to its many foreigners.

Blanc said: "England have won nothing at a European level for quite some time.

"Their national team is still a yardstick for us, but their results have not been up to standard for a while."
