Blackpool winger Thomas Ince stands by his decision to turn down Cardiff City over the summer.
Ince travelled down to South Wales to meet Malky Mackay, but the family reasons he gave for declining a move to the Premier League were nothing to do with his father, but the birth in July of his first daughter.
"I know dad wants me to stay at Blackpool," Ince, 21, told the Daily Express. "I went down to Cardiff and wanted to see Malky Mackay and what they were about. They have got everything down to a tee there.
"Don't get me wrong, Malky Mackay is a fantastic guy. I wish them all the best. But I felt from a personal point-of-view the family is based in the North-west and I did not feel it was the right move for me at the right time.
"If anything comes up ever, me and dad will talk about it. But I am happy to ply my trade at Blackpool. They have given me the platform and to get interest from the Premier League is flattering - it shows you are doing something, which is good."
