Blackpool striker Brett Ormerod accepts manager Ian Holloway's selection policy.
Competition for places is fierce up front, with DJ Campbell, Marlon Harewood, Luke Varney, Matt Phillips and Elliot Grandin all added to the squad since last season.
Ormerod is philosophical and respects the manager's decisions.
"Obviously I want to play every game but it is not always going to be the case," he told the Blackpool Gazette. "If you don't start, it's not because you've necessarily had a bad game. Sometimes the gaffer wants to go with a different formation.
"It might be tactical, that he thinks he can exploit a weakness in the opposition, so although you never feel good about not playing it's the nature of the game and I'm pretty much used to it.
"Arsenal was a good example because we had won 4-0 at Wigan, and then I didn't play the next game.
"It's not as if it's a personal thing to me, it's just the way the gaffer does things.
