Blackpool boss Ian Holloway must up his bid to land Southampton winger Jason Puncheon.
The Mirror says Holloway failed with his first offer after watching Puncheon, 24, help dump his Premier League reserves out of the FA Cup last weekend.
Puncheon has returned to St Mary's at the end of a loan spell at Millwall, where he scored five goals in seven matches, including a hat-trick against Crystal Palace.
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has also been linked with Puncheon this month.
