Blackpool striker Adam relishing Premier League challenge

Charlie Adam is looking forward to testing himself against the world's best after firing Blackpool into the Premier League. The Scottish midfielder joined Blackpool last summer from Rangers and swept the board at the club's end-of-season awards party.

The 24-year-old was recalled to the Scotland squad this season on his way to scoring 19 goals for his club.

"Hopefully I will become a better player," Adam told the Daily Star.

"It will be tough because there are some world-class players in there but I'm looking forward to it.

"It's important to think about it now," he added. "It'll be tough but we'll have a smile on our faces."

Adam initially joined Blackpool on loan at the end of the 2008/09 season before the Tangerines met the Gers' asking price last summer.

"I came here because Blackpool were the only team to find the money," he revealed. "They paid the £500,000 and that was it.

"I had been on loan here and enjoyed it, and was more than happy to come here.

"I'm just glad we have become winners. Nobody will take winning at Wembley away from us."
